International Street Festival digital Archive
The International Street Festival (also known as ISF or Street Fest) was created in 1999 and is an annual event that promotes internationalization and cultural awareness within the Athens community. The Festival is student and family friendly and boasts an attendance of 3,000-5,000 visitors each year. Various UGA student groups and community organizations host exciting cultural displays and performances throughout the Festival, which typically occurs in downtown Athens each spring. Virtual International Street Festival 2021
The 2021 International Street Festival took place virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than gathering in person in downtown Athens, student organizations prepared prerecorded videos and led virtual programs centered around cultural learning and celebration during the week of Street Festival. On this page you will be able to access the videos that they created. Click the photos below to access each category of content, including cooking demonstrations, dance performances, craft tutorials, and more.
How to Use the Street Festival Digital Archive
- Watch prerecorded videos prepared by different student organizations and UGA students.
- Visit one of our community partners in Athens for internationally-inspired cuisine.
- Follow @ugaisl on social media and tag us with a post about how you are engaging or what you enjoyed about Street Fest ’21. Take a photo cooking a new recipe, trying a new craft, watching a dance performance, eating food from an internationally-inspired local restaurant, and make sure to tag @ugaisl with your post.
- Share this website with friends, family, and colleagues of all ages. We welcome UGA community members, Athens community members, and anyone interested in learning more about culture to view our virtual International Street Festival archive.
