International Education Week

In 2001, the United States Department of State and Department of Education created International Education Week (IEW) to promote the benefits of international education and worldwide exchange. This week is celebrated annually across the United States and typically occurs during the month of November each year.

UGA's International Education Week is scheduled for November 12-16, 2018. In an effort to provide programs and services that prepare UGA students for a global society, ISL plans a week-long schedule of events that introduce important international education and intercultural learning opportunities on campus. Further, the IEW schedule includes opportunities to celebrate the diversity and contributions of our international campus community.

To build a robust schedule for this year's IEW, International Student Life encourages all UGA student organizations, colleges/schools, and departments to identify existing programs and/or consider developing new events that align with the goals of UGA's International Education Week:

  • Celebrating the benefits of international exchange;
  • Promoting international understanding;
  • Preparing UGA students to live and work in a global environment;
  • Celebrating the international student diversity on our campus.

The IEW 2018 schedule will be available on this site in mid-October.
